Corndog 02:36
Kurtis had dipped his last corn dog just before the sun set. The sounds of children laughing, tilt a whirls twirling, and bumper cars crashing no longer excited him. He wanted to escape. He opened the rusty cart door and stepped into the sand. He looked around for 4 fingered Frankie but couldn't spot him. The coast was clear. The back of his neck dripped and grit filled his boots as he ran further away from the carnival. The Ferris wheel lights glistened in the distance as he took a quick look behind him. No sign of Frankie. Up ahead, he could hear the rumble and clank of engines passing by. Each car was a vessel that could get him home. As he approached the dirt road, a truck lurched over the hill about a half mile down. Kurtis stepped into the truck. The driver was a small eyed man of about 6 or 7 hands. They started on down the road and Kurtis got a funny feeling. He remembered the sharpened corn dog sticks in his front pocket. All of a sudden the man lunged at him with his free hand. Kurtis drew his weapon and turned him into a corn dog. Blood soaked Kurtis' hands as he took the wheel.

Mindy 01:56
Kurtis wiped the blood from his hands and pushed the body out the passenger side of the moving truck. He drove for almost an hour. He was almost out of gas and pulled over at a seedy looking nightclub. There was a large buzzing neon sign with its name: "The Waterin Hole" He parked in the back and went inside to hideout. There was a loud funk band playing and drunken dancing townsfolk as far as he could see. The walls were covered in shag and smoke stained. He got a beer and sat down at the bar next to a tired, pretty looking lady. She started talking to him. There was a charm about her. Her huge, sad eyes seemed to be calling for kurtis, a place he could hide. "My name is Mindy,"she said. Before he knew it he was drunk and told her about the carnival. She mentioned to him that as a child the Ferris wheel was her favorite thing in the world. Mindy told kurtis, "I want to ride the Ferris wheel one last time." By now, kurtis had grown fond of her. She was being touchy now and asked him to come back to her trailer. They got in and she unzipped Kurtis dusty trousers. His belt buckle hit the tin floor with a loud clunk. Before he knew ,it him and Mindy were in her bedroom, pantless. He took off his crusty socks. Soon the trailer was rocking so violently that the ball of the tow hitch almost broke against the tree under which Mindy's trailer was parked. Kurtis fell asleep quickly thereafter.
